Venue Report: San Juan Capistrano Edition

San Juan Capistrano is one of my very favorite places.  Its history is rich, and the scenery is rustic and breathtaking.  It’s no wonder this city is such a popular spot to get married.  Here’s a look at some of the venues in SJC that are wedding perfect.

The Villa

Located near the mission, The Villa is an absolutely divine venue to have an event.  The chapel is gorgeous, and the courtyards serve as serene backdrop for receptions.  They are exclusively catered by the Ramos House Café and have a full list of preferred vendors, however you can use your own if there’s one you just can’t live without.  Receptions here are relatively small as they are restricted to 150 guests.  This is also a great venue for a bridal shower.  Visit The Villa Website for more information.

The Tea House on Los Rios

This is a personal favorite.  This historic home has been transformed into a quaint restaurant.  Don’t be fooled by its size though; the beautiful Victoria garden will seat up to 200 guests and serve as both a wedding and a reception venue.  This is also the perfect place to have bridal/baby showers, anniversary and birthday parties.  Visit The Tea House for more details.

The Forster Mansion

For a more luxurious wedding, you can spend your special day at this 100-year-old historic landmark.  You have the option of an indoor or outdoor event at this venue.  They do have a caterer they work with, however you can use outside vendors if you wish.  You can have larger wedding at this location: up to 350 guests.  To see photos and a price menu, please visit  The Forster Mansion

Café Mozart

Café Mozart serves as a full service restaurant what specializes in weddings and banquets.  Holding a max capacity of 180, this venue can serve as both a wedding and reception location. Catering, bar, linens and place settings are all provided, there’s plenty of parking, and they have a dressing area for the Bride and bridal party only (sorry guys, you’ll have to come dressed in your wedding garb.)  To see a complete list of accommodations, please visit their Website.

These are just some of the amazing places to have your reception.  There are also the Mission (though you must be Roman Catholic to be married here), Serra Plaza (holds up to 450 guests) and El Adobe Restaurant.  All locations have a rustic charm, and all are close to the historic district, which serves as a wonderfully unique backdrop for amazing wedding photos.

Stay tuned for next week’s Venue Report: Downtown Fullerton.
